ADAMSVILLE/CASA GRANDE RUINS
WORKSHOP
COOLIDGE, AZ
OCTOBER 13, 2007
The workshop group met in the picnic area of the Casa Grande Ruins National Monument at 3pm. The ruins were built by the Hohokam in the mid 1300’s. This mysterious structure with holes in three of the walls is believed to have been used for astronomical observation. It was built along the 33rd parallel which is said to be magical in itself. Other well known centers of paranormal activity on or near the 33rd parallel are Atlantis, the Great Pyramids and the Bermuda Triangle.
Shadowy figures of the Hohokam have been sighted lurking about the Casa Grande Ruins. Reports of mysterious lights and music have been seen and heard on the grounds. We took time to photograph the ruins and tune in to any impressions the past may send our way. We did see a large owl in the high protective cover over the ruins which we acknowledged as a good omen.
From the lost city of the Hohokam, we caravanned to yet a more modern day lost town site—Adamsville—and the lost City of Adamsville Cemetery. Adamsville was founded by Charles Adams in the 1870’s. At its peak, Adamsville had 400 inhabitants and a flour mill. The town was deserted and flooding waters washed away what remained of Adamsville. The Cemetery is all that remains with graves scattered across the graveyard dating back to 1877.
We showed our good intentions of visiting the cemetery by donning gloves and filling several trash bags with broken glass, bottles, and garbage other visitors had left behind.
At dusk we began to fill the next several hours photographing tombstones. Several Masons have their grave markers directly on the 33rd parallel. We practiced dowsing using our rods. Some tried their hand at recording EVP, while others say they received messages from beyond.
In the middle of the cemetery is a Medicine Wheel. They are usually located where the Earth’s energy is very strong. Because of the vortex energy, these places are of intense power and healing. Many visit the wheels to seek visions or communicate with the dead. We took turns standing in the center of the wheel to experience the healing powers. We also took our unique group photo at this spot.
We all agreed due to the location—the 33rd parallel—this cemetery was very active. Hopefully the site will be historically preserved and maintained.
